A marimo project is pollution free. Because bad ideas, sloppy messages, distorted images, banality and vulgarity can also badly pollute
the environment in which we live. The experience, philosophy and instincts we share mean we try to produce only projects which are sustainable,
projects which respect other people’s intelligence. Or at least, our own.
marimo is a team of creative talent and account managers that has converted a wealth of shared experience with an international group
into an independent project.
Manuela Morpurgo account manager, founding partner
After working for many years as Head of the McCann Erickson Contact Department, in 2000 Manuela was appointed general manager of McCann Rome,
becoming general manager of McCann Italy in 2005. Over the years she worked with both private companies and public clients, as well as dealing
with the principal tenders and acquisitions. In 2007, she became one of the founders of marimo.
Giovanna Ridenti account manager, founding partner
Giovanna joined McCann Erickson in 1997, working for international clients (including Exxon-Mobil and Unilever) and local customers, as well as
for clients involved in “social” issues and numerous new business projects. After a period in the Rome office of Leo Burnett – where she worked
for Procter & Gamble as coordinator of the Southern Europe personal beauty care products campaign – in 2007 she became one of the founders of marimo.
Paola Manfroni art director, creative director, founding partner
Before founding marimo, Paola was creative director in McCann Erickson Rome from 1997 to 2007, building up a company with a growing local reputation
thanks to its award-winning campaigns. She also masterminded communication for some of the country’s major privatisations and institutions.
She participated as a juror in the 2007 edition of the Cannes International Advertising Festival, the 1998 ADCE, and the 2010 Golden Drumm.
Her work has won awards at the CannesInternational Advertising Festival, London Eurobest, European Epica, the New York Festivals, Cresta Awards,
London International Advertising Awards and the Italian Art Directors Club. She is currently vice president of the Italian Art Directors Club.
Assunta Squitieri copywriter, creative director
She has long been one of the Italian copywriters capable of making the difference: B.J.K.E., Pirella Gottsche Lowe, Saatchi& Saatchi
and McCann Erickson Rome have all achieved some of their best results thanks to her creative talent. She has created campaigns for both
national and international brands, winning awards at The New York Festivals, the Italian Art Directors Club, the Media Key
and the Grand Prix at RadioFestival. While working as the copywriter of the campaign for Unilever’s new “That’s Amore” brand – which
she created and brought to life in over more than 10 successful advertising flights- she discovered an elective affinity with Paola
which led to the creation of the new agency.
